Specialty Training Committee

 

Cardiology is a sub-specialty of the STC for Medicine which the Chair of the Cardiology sub-committee attends.  School of Medicine Terms of Reference

 The function of the Specialty Training Committee (STC) is:

  •  to advise and support Health Education North East in implementing Postgraduate Medical Education relevant to their Specialty
  • to collaborate with HENE in the local administration and delivery of specialist training (i.e. SpR Programmes, recruitment and selection) within the regulations and guidelines of their College or Faculty
  • to deliver, through an appropriate panel the annual review of trainees progression against the relevant curriculum. (ARCPs)

The membership is drawn principally from the discipline or specialty concerned (one for each "Specialty" as identified by CCT), including college, regional or specialty advisors, representatives of SACs or the equivalent, Programme Directors and a Dean or Dean Director (with HENE administrative support).
