Welcome to Dental Core Training
Health Education England working across the North East and Cumbria currently offers Dental Core Training (DCT) in levels 1, 2 and 3. Our DCT posts currently offer trainees experience of working across a range of settings including hospitals and community practices where there are opportunities to work in the following specialties (these may be subject to change for 2024 recruitment).
- Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery
- Restorative Dentistry
- Paediatric Dentistry
- Oral Medicine/Sedation
- Primary Care including Community Dental Services
- Dental Public Health
- Orthodontics
- Oral Surgery/Paediatric Dentistry Surgery
We currently have 40 DCT posts, in addition to the 2-year GPT Scheme which incorporates Dental Foundation Training and DCT1.
