Guidance for claiming Interview/Assessment Centre Expenses

 

In you have attended the Orthodontic National Recruitment Assessment Centre as a candidate you are entitled to claim back limited funding towards your expenses by completing the claim for to the right of this page.  All claim forms must be completed in typed format.  Handwritten claims will not be accepted.

Limits

 

There is a limit to the amount claimable by an individual attending.  Please see below:

  • Candidates who reside within Health Education North East are limited to £30.00
  • Candidates who reside outside Health Education North East are limited to £80.00

Travel and Subsistence Expenses

 

Travel and subsistence expenses will be reimbursed for pre-application or pre-interview visits, in addition to interview expenses.  Reimbursement is restricted to two preliminary visits. 

In the case of candidates travelling from abroad, travelling expenses are normally payable only from the point of entry the United Kingdom mainland.

Payment of Expenses

 

Once authorised, claims will be paid into individuals banks accounts as indicated on the claim form.

Tickets/Receipts

 

All claims must be accompanied by receipts.

Expiration

 

No claims will be accepted if received 3 months after the actual date of the assessment centre attended.

Allowances

 

Night allowance

Hotel or Bed and Breakfast

£55.00 maximum

 

Non-commercial accommodation i.e. staying with friend of relative – address must be supplied

£25.00 maximum

Meal allowance

Per 24-hour period

£20.00 maximum

Lunch allowance

More than 5 hours away from base (must include lunchtime between 12.00 – 14.00 hours)

£5.00 maximum

Evening meal allowance

If more than 10 hours away from base (after 19.00 hours)

£15.00 maximum

Rail

Only standard class will be reimbursed

Standard class only

Mileage

Per mile

£0.24p maximum
