A warm welcome from Specialty Training. Within Health Education England  we coordinate and facilitate the training of secondary care specialties within the north east and Cumbria.

We work closely with clinicians in every specialty either through a School structure and / or through a Specialty Training Committee, to provide the highest quality training, supervision and support.  This is evidenced by our being continually ranked as one of the best in the country by trainees in the annual NTS GMC survey.

Our main areas of work include:

• Supporting trainees in achieving their full potential and becoming the best consultants they can be;
• Ensuring we successfully recruit to the agreed number of specialty trainees in order to meet the needs of patients in our region;
• Developing our faculty of clinical educators to design and deliver high quality education and professional development.

All of our training programmes offer you an exceptionally varied training experience.  We have a first class support structure of experienced and knowledgeable staff here to help you and support you during your training.  We have comprehensive policies and processes so you can be assured we conduct our business in a fair and transparent way. All Specialty training programmes are operated in accordance with the Gold Guide and GMC regulatory requirements.
