Managing Emergencies in Paediatric Anaesthesia

MEPA is a national course for anaesthetic STs during their paediatric module, teaching management strategies for paediatric anaesthetic emergencies.

This one day simulation course offers both practical and theoretical training using high fidelity simulation.  The management strategies are evidenced-based and agreed nationally.

There is no formal assessment on the course.  Certification of course completion can be used to demonstrate to educational supervisors that the trainee has practiced the management strategies for paediatric emergencies.

The MEPA Course is recognised by the Royal College of Ananaesthetists and the Association of Paediatric Anaesthetists.
