CWD for non-NHS staff delivering NHS care
We make 10 per cent of our continuous workforce development (CWD) courses available to employees of non-NHS organisations delivering NHS care.
There is a widening access to CWD policy in place. Non-NHS organisations delivering NHS care can apply to join the widening access register.
Once approved, organisations nominate specific members of staff to undertake modules and courses and they are added to the widening access register. When they apply to the universities they select “widening access” as their funding route and the universities will cross-match applications against the details on the widening access register.
Although 10 per cent of places across our contracts can be accessed by non-NHS staff, all places are allocated on a first come, first served basis. Places are not reserved for anyone, so we recommend applications are submitted as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
Organisations can remain on the register from year to year providing they confirm that their details have not changed since they submitted their original application.
