What is it about?
Module will develop physical assessment and interpretative skills to support clinical decision-making in practice.
Who is it for?
It open to all health are practitioners.
What will participants learn?
On completion you can:
. Undertake a thorough but focused and systematic history and examination in the following areas: cardiovascular, respiratory, abdomen spine, CNS, musculoskeletal and HENT.
. Present and record findings on history and examination.
. Produce a basic differential and working diagnosis from findings elicited through history, examination and clinical tests.
. Safely triage a patient on the basis of the clinical assessment.
How will it be delivered?
5 full contact days every other week for 10 weeks. The exam is in week 14.
Lectures and skills sessions/facilitated workshops/peer group assessment/practice based supervision
How will participants be assessed?
Assessment is in the form of an objectively structured clinical examination. There are three stations, 15 minutes in duration, based on the award content and assess your capacity to:
• communicate with a patient
• perform clinical examinations, for example, cardiovascular, respiratory, and musculoskeletal
What experience / qualifications do participants need?
Applicants msust be a pracitioner currently employed in a specialist/advanced area of practie in a clinical role requiring a level of autonomy of diagnostics and case management. With access to advanced practitioners.
