What is it about?
In this module, students develop a sophisticated understanding of global health issues and challenges, by ‘drilling down’ in detail, with specific attention to such topics as globalisation and health; maternal and child health; and health inequalities in global context.

What will participants learn?
Intended Knowledge Outcomes:
• Apply knowledge and understanding of the main concepts and debates in global health.
• Recognise and understand the changing global health policy landscape and the roles of major public and private actors in addressing and influencing global health
• Apply knowledge of how through globalisation health in the developed and developing world is interconnected, and how the operation of the global economy influences global health
Intended Skill Outcomes:
•Critically assess current challenges of health and health care faced by resource poor countries
•Apply the knowledge gained in the module to more advanced challenges in assessing research and interventions in global health
