What is it about?
Paediatric physical assessment skills: understanding of the differences in ages for examination purposes, history taking, treatment and planning.
Who is it for?
A qualified health care pracitioner - nurse, paramedic, health visitor, pharmacist or other AHP with a minimum of 3 years post qualification experience.
What will participants learn?
On completion you can:
Undertake a thorough but focused and systematic history and examination in the following areas: cardiovascular, respiratory, abdomen spine, CNS, musculoskeletal and HENT.
Present and record findings on history and examination.
Produce a basic differential and working diagnosis from findings elicited through history, examination and clinical tests.
Safely triage a patient on the basis of the clinical assessment.
How will it be delivered?
You attend five full-day direct contact sessions delivered every other week for a period of ten weeks. Your exam will be on week 14. Depending on your start month you attend on the following days each week: October is Fridays, January is Thursdays and April is Fridays. +

Summative OSCE’s, x2
What experience / qualifications do participants need?
For patient safety reasons it is required that:
Applicants must be a practitioner currently employed in a specialist/advanced area of practice in a clinical role requiring a level of autonomy in diagnostics and case management, with appropriate access to advanced practitioners.
