The Northern Academic Training Group is a collaboration of Health Education England NE (HEE NE) and academic partners, principally the Clinical Academic Team (Newcastle University).
The purpose of this Group is:-
- to define the academic strategy
- to ensure best possible access to academic medical training and research opportunities in the North East
- to work with non-medical academic partners across HEE NE area
- to adhere to the guidance produced by the National Institute of Health Research (NIHR) and the Department of Health Gold Guide
- to oversee the work of medical and non-medical academic operational groups as required.
