Gastroenterology Research in the Northern region

From molecular biology to endoscopy, education to nutrition, complex genetics to quality of life studies; whether full time or part time over one, two, three or four years, there are research opportunities to suit most gastroenterology trainees within the Northern region. If you are interested in research - or even just considering your options - do bear in mind that the process of finding a potential supervisor, agreeing a project, securing funding and gaining Out of Programme approval can be a long one. It often takes well over a year from beginning an application to starting a research post, so don’t leave it too late into your 5 years to start thinking about it.

All of the consultants listed here are happy to be contacted to discuss their areas of interest and possibilities for future research projects. The additional opportunities page includes endoscopy and teaching posts that also provide research opportunities.
