Regional Teaching

The Regional Teaching Programme is mapped to the RCGP curriculum and is provided throughout the three years. This allows weekly networking and support from your peers.  The trainees particularly value this continuity and the ability to share and discuss with their colleagues, especially during their hospital posts. Topics in the half day release are timed to best suit your needs, e.g. early in your final year focus on preparation for the CSA exam; in the final six months topics preparing you for transition to becoming a GP, such as:

• GP appraisal
• Interview techniques
• Negotiating.

A unique feature is the trainer-led teaching sessions for trainees in their first and second year. These modular sessions are facilitated by local GP trainers and provide great learning in context and opportunity to meet our dedicated trainer group.

Regional Teaching is held on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at our offices:

This is the site of the Stockton campus for Durham University. It is located on the banks of the river Tees with views of the famous infinity bridge. There is ample parking, for which you are provided with an annual permit. There is also a cafe, sandwich bar and restaurant on site.
