Please note that if you email the admin team and the answer to your question/query can be found by checking our website, or completing the relevant survey, then the admin team WILL NOT respond to your email.

 

Where possible, forms are checked for submissions as below:

Support form and ePortfolio - each Monday, Tuesday and Thursday

Submissions will then be triaged to an appropriate member of staff for response. Please note: that if your question/query can be answered by referring to our useful information webpage (link below), the RCGP website or the Lead Employer Trust (LET) website, then your support form submission will not be actioned

ePortfolio (eP) queries

Please find information regarding navigating ePortfolio on our website.

FourteenFish’s support section can be found on their website.  

You can log a query with FourteenFish using their online request form or via email.

Trainers must open a new review period at the same time as signing off the ESR, otherwise the resident doctor will disappear from the 14Fish dashboard. If this happens, the resident doctor or trainer must complete the ePortfolio Form

Educational Supervisor Reports (ESRs)

The Lead Employer Trust (LET) is the employer for Resident Doctors. They manage all aspects relating to employment such as sickness, leave, changes to contract and payroll etc. Please visit their website for full information or refer to the LET information webpage.

 

Basic Life Support (BLS)/Safeguarding

Rotas

Full time resident doctors are contracted to work 40 hours per week.

When in GP placements 28 hours should be clinical contact and 12 hours of educational time (1 session for in-house tutorial, 1 session for self-directed study and 1 session for regional teaching). Less than full time are pro rata:

Resident doctors are entitled to a 30-minute paid break for any shift over 5 hours and a second 30-minute paid break for any shift over 9 hours.

Self-directed study is not applicable in hospital placements.

When in a trust post, resident doctors must check their rotas to see if they have been placed on call or on nights, the day before rotating to the next post. It is the resident doctor’s responsibility to speak to the rota coordinator if a swap is required.

Please note that the timetables are updated occasionally therefore please refer to these on the website and do not use a downloaded copy.

When Regional Teaching is not on, the resident doctor must attend the workplace.  In GP placements, this should remain an educational session doing something agreed by the trainer and resident doctor and determined by the individuals learning needs.

Less than full time resident doctors are to attend a pro-rata number of regional teaching sessions

 

Revalidation

Home visits

Resident doctors can claim reimbursement from the LET for home visits 3 days per week. If practices require resident doctors to visit on more than 3 days, they are required to reimburse the transport costs. Home visit time should be accounted for in the job plan, as part of clinical contact.
