Overseas dentists wishing to work in NHS primary dental care are required to demonstrate equivalence to Dental Foundation Training by the Performers List Regulations.  This process, which was previously known as Dental Foundation Training by Equivalence (DFTQ), may have been managed differently by Health Education England Local Offices. 

The UK Committee of Postgraduate Dental Deans and Directors (COPDEND) recently undertook a process review and by 1 January 2018 at the latest, the same process will be carried out throughout England.  The revised process will be known as Performers List Validation by Experience (PLVE) and has been introduced in this area from 1 October.  For more information on the Performer List Validation by Experience (PLVE) process please click here.
