An exciting opportunity has arisen to support the work of the proactive multi-disciplinary oral health team based within the NHSE Workforce, Education and Training Dental Directorate at Bourne House Durham.
We are looking for support from members of local dental practices to assist with the delivery of our Oral Health training programme across the northeast and north Cumbria. In line with the NHS Long Term Plan and the regional Integrated Care Board priorities, the programme aims to embed oral health awareness as an integral part of general health awareness across training, health and social care providers through education and training delivery.
Dental professionals wishing to be involved need to be registered with the GDC and have an interest and qualification in oral health. Based at Bourne House, the Directorate’s Dental Education and Training Centre in Belmont, near Durham, they must be prepared and able to travel across the region providing oral health training to a variety of stakeholders.
Practices who are able to release employees for a minimum of one day per week, will be reimbursed at an appropriate level.
Our range of training programmes reflect national and local policy guidance with respect to oral health, to improve the oral health awareness and oral health of the population served with a focus on prevention and improving health inequalities. Involvement will include participating in the planning, implementation and delivery of education and training programmes, exhibitions, and media promotion to support national campaigns of public awareness regarding oral health issues.
