Oral Surgery

Welcome to the specialty of Oral Surgery

Primarily based at Newcastle Dental Hospital we currently have 3 trainees (ACFs and NHS StRs). The trainees enjoy training encompassing the full scope of the core curriculum with opportunities for cross specialty learning and teaching opportunities. Trainees rotas change every 6 months allowing them to experience a wide range of clinical encounters under the care of our clinical trainers. We have associated educational programmes to complement their clinical experience which includes interdisciplinary teaching and a bespoke oral surgery specific educational programme. There is plenty of opportunity to get involved in audit and quality improvement programmes. The current trainees lead a journal club which is attended by the wider team.
