Intending Trainer Courses available to book now

Please find below the list of current Intending Trainer courses dates and venues.

You can download an application form for any of the courses; please note all applications must be submitted electronically. Your place on the course is not confirmed until you have successfully passed the pre-course task.

Pease note that each PCN is linked to a Training Programme. The applicant will automatically be linked to the relevant Training Programme as outlined in the attached list.

Please see the course information guide for full details. An overview of the course can be found here. The course consists of:

  • Taught content by a course tutor – 6 days in total.
  • 6 sessions of Supervisory Training – these dates are to be agreed between you and your Supervisory Trainer and must occur between the window provided for your cohort.
  • Self-directed learning – this is separate to the modules dates and you need to plan in time to complete this. This must occur between the window provided for your cohort.
  • Observation at an ARCP panel – you will be sent an option of dates and will need to attend for 1 hour and 30 minutes.
  • Completion of a QIP – this is separate to the modules dates and you need to plan in time to complete this and then submit by the deadline provided for your cohort.
  • Completion of a reflective presentation – the completion of this is separate to the modules dates and you need to plan in time to complete this. You will then present this during Day 6 of the course.

Please ensure you check the eligiblity criteria in the course information guide prior to submitting an application.

Please note, our Intending Trainers Course are free to attend.  Resubmission fees apply as outlined in the course information guide.

Applications are accepted on a first come first served basis and if we reach capacity we will close the application window. If you would like to enrol on this course we recommend that you apply as soon as possible in order to secure a place.

Due to our large geographical spread and no charge for the course, the ITC is run using a hybrid approach of some face-to-face days and some online days using video conferencing platforms. To complete the course, full attendance at all teaching days is expected. Please check carefully and diarise the dates when you apply.

We use venues for the face-to-face days in both the Newcastle and Stockton areas. If there is enough of a cohort of North Cumbria Intending Trainers, we will also book a venue in that location. You will be sent the details of your face-to-face venue once fully enrolled.
