Gateshea

  1. Gateshead Health are having a competition for wards to participate in a delirium board – judging will be on the day with a cream tea for the winning team.
  2. We have PINCHME posters printed for all of the Wards and departments which we are handing out next week (we unashamedly, via Twitter, contacted a healthcare practitioner from outside of our region and she shared a poster she had designed which fitted in with our theme of teaching of delirium and how to prevent it).
  3. We have Comms information that has been sent out as well as a screen saver that we will have running for the full week.

Northumbria

  1. At Northumbria Healthcare we had planned to have the giant brain in the well-being centre on Monday 13th March.  We were going to provide mini teaching sessions on aspects of A PINCH ME, have sim glasses of a deteriorating patient and have delirium videos on loop which included a patient’s story.  We intend to go ahead as planned with the giant brain.
  2. We have created new flowcharts, guidelines and a patient leaflet which we plan to roll out during the working week of World Delirium Day. We will be visiting wards around the trust during the week to promote these new documents.  The plan is to visit different ward/departments dressed as a squid to embed the ‘different today’ message.
