International Opportunities

We are passionate about offering our current and future trainees and trainers unique and exciting opportunities to enhance their experience. Such experiences will not only support individuals in their career development but will ultimately also enhance the quality of patient care they deliver.

As part of this strategy, in our region, we have developed numerous international work streams which can be browsed by clicking on the headings below.

In addition to the work streams which HEE NE are currently actively working on as above, it is apparent (as highlighted at a regional ‘Global Connections Conference’ held in 2015) that many of our local organisations have overseas links.

Through a project undertaken in partnership with the Academic Health Science Network North East and North Cumbria, a regional network of 31 International Health Links has been established: https://www.northumbria.nhs.uk/get-involved/charity/international-links/international-health-links-network

HEE NE are keen to ensure current trainees and faculty, as well as potential and future applicants, are aware of the plethora of excellent international work occurring from our region.

If you are aware of any international workstreams linked to the North East and North Cumbria not yet featured on this website, please let us know by contacting Gemma Crackett (Senior Business Manager) Gemma.Crackett@hee.nhs.uk
