PA and ACP CPD opportunities organised by HEE

The North East and Yorkshire faculty teams have arranged fully funded monthly CPD sessions for ACPs, PAs and other clinicians to attend. The sessions are around two hours long. Upcoming CPD sessions are:

 

Women’s health – 19th April 2023: 10:00 – 11:00

Fathoming Frailty and Falls! - Tuesday 23rd May 2023: 14:00 - 16:00. 

Develop a better understanding of Frailty and Frailty syndromes, learn what to consider when seeing frail patients and how to identify those at risk of falls.

The speaker for this session is Rebecca Fraser, an experienced PA, who has worked in both primary and secondary care

RDF23 at Newcastle upon Tyne - in association with the Health Research Authority

The NHS R&D Forum is delighted to announce that RDF23 will be taking place, in-person, at Sage in Newcastle/Gateshead on 21st-23rd May 2023. Physical health care for people with severe mental illness  - for ACPs and PAs in primary care­

Maudsley Learning is running a free, national half-day online course for ‘Physical Health Care for People with Severe Mental Illness’ as part of the strategy to improve physical health care outcomes in individuals with severe mental illness.

 

This course will provide an overview of systemic barriers and how practical adaptions can be implemented to ensure the physical health needs of individuals with serious mental health illness are met. Existing legal frameworks and evidenced based guidelines for primary care services will be covered along with guidance around working collaboratively with stakeholders and clinical teams to maintain effective patient care.

North East and Yorkshire ACP primary care career event

Following the success of the NEY ACP primary care event on 5th October 2022, it has been agreed that the event will take place again in 2023.

The event is open to any qualified ACPs, HEE trainee ACPs, ACP leads and ACP supervisors, who are all within primary care.

 

The day will consist of a variety of speakers and workshops to showcase career options open to ACPs in primary and community care with a focus on the opportunities to work across the four pillars of advanced practice.

South Yorkshire’s faculty of advancing practice have organised a wellbeing event for physician associates in the North East and Yorkshire.
