Welcome! Here, you will find our commitment to Equality Diversity and Inclusion (EDI). In this section of the website, you will find our agreed objectives for the North East and North Cumbria region, a range of articles, reports, videos, and links to help you explore areas of interest, and contacts for finding out more and getting involved.
The resources linked from this site may include some sensitive and potentially controversial topics, which are brought through to meetings to encourage engagement and challenge where necessary, to drive positive change within NHS England and the healthcare workforce. Inclusion of items does not confer our endorsement of the content. Our work continues to welcome multi-professional representatives, sharing views, EDI themes, and learning from all programmes from an education and training perspective.
Our strategic framework is aligned to our existing national and corporate objectives, priorities, and values as well as the principals set out in the NHS Constitution. We recognise that a diverse and inclusive workforce can encourage new ways of thinking, leading to improvements and innovations in the way we do things.
For us, it is vital that all staff and the learners we support are treated fairly and are all enabled to reach their full potential. We believe that by working together we can create an organisation that is strong and pioneering.
All staff has a voice and through initiatives including local and national equality and diversity groups, we seek to ensure equality and diversity is given the prominence it warrants as we continue to develop as an organisation.
